What's the most attracting factor in choosing your holiday destination?

For most people holidays means a place in the sun, beautiful white sand beaches and the sea. But would you consider going for holiday in war zones and trouble spots where holiday makers are advised not to go? I don't understand why somebody would want to go for holidays in such areas. But however there is always a reason, why one would want to visit a certain area.

Recently I read the story of two cousins who just love to go for holiday in these trouble places. They have been shot at by the Russian troops while trying to sneak over a border into Chechnya.
They have been chased by rampaging elephants in Uganda and even fled the Taliban in Afghanistan. They get 'kicks' from trouble, and they seem to be attracted to trouble. They love the buzz of living on the knife edge! I don't understand it.

These two guys reckon they have spend £3000 each a year on their adventures. Is this your idea of a holiday? or would you consider going on such holidays. Maybe you can let me know what really attracts people to such areas. Because for me, that's not my idea of a holiday. I love to be in a peaceful place, having fun with those I love and care about rather than always running away from trouble.
