WBNews of a possible reboot of the WB drama Charmed hit the Web this weekend and the reaction generally seemed positive, but two of the show's original stars aren't so thrilled. Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan both spoke out against the idea.
"They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood," McGowan tweeted on Friday, adding: "Lame lame lame lamertons."
Milano wasn't so harsh with her reaction, but wasn't exactly jumping up and down either. "The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is... it just... it feels like yesterday," she wrote on Twitter. "It feels too close."
Now, the remake is in the very, very first stages, so there's not even a guarantee that it will make it to the tube. But considering the success of other shows featuring the supernatural and attractive people, it could be a major win for CBS.
The show went off the air in 2006 and also featured Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty for a time. Those two have yet to speak out.
"I think really it's due to the success of Charmed and the fact that it had so much success even after it was done, meaning that people looked for it, people searched it out and watched those episode over and over," Milano said (via E! News). "The Charmed fans are the greatest fans on the planet and the most loyal fans on the planet. I feel like networks are trying to replicate that."
