 As an Atlanta home inspector I am often called out to do roof inspections on homes that were damaged by hail and insurance companies have it replaced.  So many times the home owners want to make sure the job is done correctly    This picture is of a concentric vent for the furnace where the exhaust vent and combustion vent are separate.  Air flows into the outer vent and feeds the fire in the furnace and the exhaust fumes exit through the center pipe.  There's supposed to be a special cap on the top of these vents that keeps the air from mixing at the top.  The roofers ...
