From:  activerain.com
As an Atlanta home inspector I am often called out to do roof inspections on homes that were damaged by hail and insurance companies have it replaced.  So many times the home owners want to make sure the job is done correctly    This picture is of a concentric vent for the furnace where the exhaust vent and combustion vent are separate.  Air flows into the outer vent and feeds the fire in the furnace and the exhaust fumes exit through the center pipe.  There's supposed to be a... At what point do you throw in the towel?

From:  activerain.com
As an Atlanta Home Inspector, in this market I have been wondering at what point do you throw in the towel on a home with problems? Or better yet, are you even allowed to throw in the towel?  There is some things that I just don't understand and one of those things is "Why more people don't get a pre-listing inspection done on a home before doing all that you do?"  It seems to me and of course this is just my opinion, but it seems like people go about this a little backwards.   First as a... Atlanta Home Inspectors Great tip of the month

From:  activerain.com
I have always been amazed at someone who could tear something apart and put it back together again without having any parts left over.  My brother in law is someone who can take any piece of equipment apart and put it back together in working order without any trouble at all.  But for those of us who seem to be left scratching our heads and wondering why we have pieces left over here is a great idea to help solve the problem.    Use your digital camera to take pictures of the process while... From:  activerain.com
Trust your Tools!   Every body has a different set of tools and must have common knowledge of how to use them.  If you're about to start a framing project you wouldn't use a trim hammer.  You want to use the right tool for the job.  Home owners often get into projects only to find out they lack the tools needed to finish the job.  My father in law is having a house built and for two Saturdays him and another guy has tried to finish the plumbing only to figure out that they don't have the...
