How much of a student?s education are teachers responsible for?
- This is from a retired teacher. I don't think you can put a percentage on a question like that, because I think all situations are different. However, I will tell you that teachers, students, AND parents have a great responsibility in a student's education. The thing I would tell you, is to do your best, work hard and don't cut corners in trying to educate. Do it right. And one more tip. Don't try to "save the world" trying to help every kid that comes along, because some of them don't want to be helped. Some will use you, some will abuse you and some will thank you. The ones that thank you are the ones you want to help. You're not qualified, or get paid to help the other ones. Refer them to the counselors or the administration. That will keep you out of trouble. I hope that I don't sound like an old, grumpy teacher, because I'm not. I enjoyed teaching very much, but I found that, in my early years, I expended too much energy trying to save everyone, and didn't have that extra boost to try to save the ones that truly could be saved. Good luck in your career. We need more conscientious teachers like yourself
- I belive because only 29% of the crap we learn is relivant to our lives dont doubt it, its been proven, we are mostly responsable for what that 29% is, but teachers think they are the main outlet to our learning. That is not true, we learn every day new life skills from others around us, am I not correct? so, with those life skills most important, i say students are responsable about 29%, teachers are about 31%, and life skills are 40%. I am smarticle. I dun need no ejumacashun. adhg;aklhiwruebn;nvlcxhjl;sdfjas > correct Grammar My friend doug says "Hi :D" Fin
- I suppose it varies from student to student, and depends on the academic level. Generally speaking, teachers nowadays teach enough of the syllabus to enable the majority of students to p essential tests; of course, some students will receive extra education in other ways - from parents and family, from books, and from the culture around them. Students who hope to get the best out of the education system are responsible for adding to the groundwork that's set out for them at school. Those who don't or can't take those opportunities possibly rely on the teacher and school structures for their education far more than students who have supportive or coercive backgrounds as well. Perhaps we can see it as being the teachers' responsibility to identify students most in need, and make them a priority?
- Students spend only 15% of their time whilst they are school age actually in the cl room. Teachers are some portion of 15% responsible for a child's education, they are, however, considerably more responsible for their "schooling", which is an altogether different thing. But ignoring all that :o I would say it depends on the age of the child!
- 50 per cent
- I think a good teacher not only teaches students the syllabus, but teaches them how to learn. With this, any student can do anything they want to do. If they have the encouragement and support of teachers, family and friends, they are more likely to succeed in life whatever their IQ. When you are in school, the majority of your contact with adults comes through your teacher. If you have a positive experience, you are likely to progress better and do well in and out of school. I wouldn't say teachers are responsible for a lot of a students education. but why do you go into teaching? To transfer knowledge? Because you want to help others to better themselves? Therefore, you have an obligation to yourself to ensure that any student of yours has the best education that you yourself can give them. What they do with it is up to them
- Teachers ore responsible for half of a students education but it is not the teacher's falt if the students get bad grades
