Free Sporthorse Appaloosa Mare, needs Layup TLC
Additional Comments:
Chloe is a sporthorse bred filly from JG Appaloosas in PA! Big moving and elegant, this mare is ready to start this year (just turned 3 in Feb) however a hoof injury this month has delayed saddle work. Chloe got a shoe stuck in the loose chain link and pulled it off sideways, removing a 2" piece of wall. This tear resulted in a bacterial infection that we treated immediately- however by the time we realized it was infected (she was never lame) it progressed to seedy toe / white line disease, and it had spread 3/4 up the outer front hoof wall. This wall needed to be removed & she will require 4-6 months of layup while the wall regrows. Vet diagnosis was a full recovery if kept dry (stalled) and trimmed every 3-4 weeks with daily application of antiseptic. With two performance horses currently in board and our barn not yet built, we are willing to gift this mare to someone with the facility and time to fully rehab her. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for a top bred appaloosa sporthorse willing to invest some time! Welcome to have full pre-purchase exam, I am sure she will pass with flying colors. Other than the hoof injury, she has no vices. She is calm, biddable and confident, wonderful build and very forward working mare. Easy to keep in pasture (where she is currently) and gets along with all horses well. Easy Keeper. One reference required (farrier or vet) and must sign a no auction sale clause. If Chloe does not work well in your program, I will guarantee in contract free return, or I will pay reasonable fee once fully recouped. Her Pedigree is on All Breed (with photos) under Waps All the Applause, her registered name.
