Two for Spain, one for Argentina

By SW19 on  From mytennisscrapbook.blogspot.com
The Spanish Armada arrived in Mar del Plata, Argentina as underdogs, but as of today they are leading the host country 2-1. Yesterday, David Nalbandian defeated David Ferrer in the first singles match, followed by an impressive performance by Feliciano Lopez, who beat Juan Martin del Potro. But I think the most exciting match so far was today's doubles between Lopez/Verdasco and Nalbandian/Calleri, won by the Spanish team. Wherever Rafa is, I'm sure he's jumping with joy, tendonitis and all...Read Full Story

By hcfoo on  From hcfoo.com
Guess what David Nalbandian's doing? No, he's not picking his nose. Instead he's picking up the pieces after a terrible loss at home in the Davis Cup final last weekend. A sullen-looking Nalbandian said he was devastated by the loss. “Understand the pain of a player not being able to score a point in an important series,” Nalbandian said. “Understand the anguish and unease right now. “Things went badly, but the terrible weekend is over,” he said. Nalbandian gave Argentina its only point in...Read Full Story

Another tournament rolls around, and another episode in the long running series entitled "Scotland Are Looking Better This Year" is aired as usual.  Like every other installment in this series, I expect this one to end with the rugby equivalent of the denouement of Se7en ; except it will be Scotland's hopes in Brad Pitt's box, rather than Gwyneth Paltrow's head.  Plenty of opinion is focusing on the errant view that Wales do not like this fixture and that their record is poor at Murrayfield...Read Full Story

A Spellbinding Show

By abwise12 on  From wisetake.blogspot.com
Wizards of Waverly Place rules the Disney Channel and consumes the attention of ten-year-olds all over the country, but its mindless humor and silly plots make it irresistible- even for a 20-year-old. The show comes across as a lighter, TV version of Harry Potter. A family battles every day problems with an interesting spin- their magical powers. The catch? Only one of the three Waverly children get to keep their powers as adults. The well-formed characters include the oldest: know-it-all...Read Full Story
