I am all about recycling, but I recently learned something in regards to recycling that turned my stomach. I always had an idea that commercial animal food wasn't all that great. I assumed that it had scrap meat pieces, rice, wheat, corn, and other vegetables. Many people are still on the "no carb" / "low carb" idea for healthy eating. Well, dogs need carbs for energy. There are NO studies to show that dogs don't need carbohydrates. Carbs give energy without adding additional fat --I am talking specifically about dry food. Even the wolf (which scientists use as a reference point as a relative of the dog) who only eats protein (prey)--but, the prey eaten usually has a stomach full of grass, berries, etc (carbs!)
