ROME (Reuters) - China's Olympic champions Lin Yue and Huo Liang retained their men's synchronized 10-meter platform title on Saturday to earn China their seventh diving gold at the world championships. Lin and Huo took command from the start with crisp, elegant dives and won comfortably with 482.58 points despite a relatively weak fifth-round effort. David Boudia and Thomas Finchum of the United States produced an outstanding final dive to snatch the silver medal with a score of 456.84, just 0.24 more than Cuban duo Jose Guerra and Jeinkler Ernesto Aguirre Manso. Huo Liang, a Chinese athlete, has the lead in the men's 10-meter diving semifinals, putting his country six dives away from sweeping the eight Olympic diving gold medals. Huo had 549.95 points, receiving four perfect 10s during Saturday morning's semifinals. Meanwhile, Matthew Mitcham of Australia was second with 532.20 and Huo's teammate, Zhou Luxin, was third with 526.20. Moreover, Gleb Galperin of Russia was fourth.
