GOLD for Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson in Star Class

Its time to get out the calculator again, Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson started the race in 2nd place, so Silver medal position, and to win gold, had to beat the Swedish boat AND finish in the top six. And what a nail-biter. With the wind good, the sea was a little choppy but perfect for Star class sailing. The Swedes were just in the lead, but GB not too far behind, all to play for. Things were however changing all the time and at the turn, and although not in the lead, they were JUST in front of the Swedish boat.......BUT its neck & neck! One minute it looks like the Swedish are in front, the next it's the Brits, this is a cracking race!! Its still neck & neck. Ben Ainslie reports he cannot watch, after being quite calm Ben is pretty nervous to say the least. At the final mark, mark 3, the Brits were in front of Sweden but down in 7th place! WHAT A RACE! Even Ben Ainslie cannot work it out, it is soooo close. At the finish THE BRITS FINISH JUST AHEAD OF SWEDEN!!!
