FROM NEWSDAY : Ian Kennedy , who is 0-2 with an 8.37 ERA, said he was surprised by the demotion, which had been speculated about since his last subpar outing Thursday. He said Saturday he "shouldn't be" the one to go down. Ian Kennedy will be called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to pitch Thursday against the Rays. Kennedy will start for SWB tonight in Indianapolis in the first game of a doubleheader, but likely will be restricted to one inning so he can be ready to pitch Thursday. IMO, very good news.
