According to Wikipedia: Sir Ian Murray McKellen CBE, is a veteran English stage and screen actor, the recipient of a Tony Award and two Oscar nominations. McKellen is perhaps best known to moviegoers in recent years for his roles as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and as Magneto in the X-Men trilogy. His work has spanned genres from serious Shakespearean and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction. He was made a CBE in 1979 and knighted in 1991 for his outstanding work and contributions to the theatre.
London, August 28 (ANI): Actor Sir Ian McKellen has mixed a classic Shakespeare sonnet with electronic music and rapping.
He recorded an impromptu recital of Shakespeare’’s Sonnet 18 that begins with the words “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” during a visit to City Gateway, a youth centre in Limehouse, East London.
The speech was later mixed with electronic music and rapping, recorded by some of the youth centre’’s members.
