Painted furniture can fit a variety of decor styles and colors. Check out some pictures for inspiration:

These lovely hand painted details are perfect for a baby's nursery or a young person's room. With different colors and designs, they can work for older folks as well.

This turquoise and red chair is incredibly bold, and the color is fantastic. I love the contrast of the two shades.

White paint adds charm to a cabinet like this one.

For a more modern, funkier look, try a white design on top of a bright background shade. This dresser has kind of an Urban Outfitters feel to it.

If you're going for a cottage style decor, try this unfinished paint style, which is rustic and charming.

Annie Sloan chalk paint on a dining table

By IROCKSOWHAT on  From irocksowhat.com
A few weeks ago Josh found a perfectly good pedestal table sitting by the dumpsters around our apartment building. He brought it in thinking that I might want it, and I did. As soon as I saw it I thought instantly that I would paint it white. I've seriously always wanted a white pedestal dining table and have always coveted the ones I saw in the stores. We've been living without a dining table for a so long, it's embarrassing. We didn't have one mostly because we've moved around a bunch and...Read Full Story

Chalk paint makeover of a milking stool

By Brismod on  From funandvjs.blogspot.com
The good people from Annie Sloan sent me paint and wax* to sample as part of their launch of chalk paint into the Australian market. I had heard about the new paint...however I had only ever seen it used in that distressed antique-style finish... And as regular readers would know, that's not the sort of finish I normally favour. I wanted to use the paint in a clean, mod-style and had the perfect piece of furniture to rejuvenate. In 1993, as a young unemployed graduate, I committed crimes...Read Full Story

Distressing with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

By alphaneenee on  From funkytimeart.blogspot.com
I just finished this little two drawer chest for my booth. I think it turned out really cute with just the right amount of distress to add some instant age and interest. When I distress something I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint I usually dont get out the sander. I don't like the mess and it can be too severe looking for my taste. I get out a bucket of water and a rag. I soak the rag, wring it out and start rubbing it along the edges and anywhere I want the wood to peek through the...Read Full Story
