A community portal about Iggy Pop with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: James Newell Osterberg, Jr., better known by his stage name Iggy Pop, is an American rock singer and occasional actor. Although he has had only limited commercial success, Pop is considered one of the most important innovators of punk rock and related styles. He is sometimes referred to by the nicknames "the Godfather of Punk" and "the Rock Iguana", and is widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of rock. Pop was the lead singer of The Stooges, a late 1960s/early 1970s band that was highly influential in the development of Heavy Metal. The Stooges became infamous for their live performances in which Pop leapt off the stage, smeared raw meat and on one occasion peanut butter over his chest and cut himself with broken bottles. Many subsequent performers have imitated Pop’s antics.
Listeners respond to the choice of Iggy Pop as one of the featured artists in the "50 Great Voices" series. Robert Siegel and Madeleine Brand read from listeners' e-mails.

He would ...Oh No They Didn't! found this 17 hours ago on npr.org Find more top entertainment news, videos, and blogs on ShowHype: Music, Iggy Pop

I'm having a hard time telling these two apart. Despite the previous swiftcover ad with Iggy Pop being banned, as musicians aren't covered, Swiftcover.com decided to use him again putting down £30million on this advertising campaign. How on earth is it that I managed to reach the ripe old age of twenty eight and I’ve only just heard Debbie Harry and Iggy Pop singing “Well, Did You Evah” together, huh? "Life after Bush and Gorbachev, the wall is down but something is lost / A fine little girl is waiting for me, but I'm as bent as Dostoevsky." So sang Iggy Pop in 1993. Who could have imagined that 17 years later, actual little girls would be jumping up and down to those words in front of their tellies? But then who could have imagined that Iggy...
