Dear Target,
What’s up with this “Illegal Alien” costume?
I don’t get why a corporation that boasts about giving back to the community (can’t say I didn’t thoroughly enjoy the ¡Bienvenido Dudamel! concert a few weeks ago) and celebrates Nuestra Gente would sell such a despicable costume. (I know not all undocumented immigrants are Latino, but we do make up a plurality of the population.)
Is it to make a buck? Is that enough to... Read Full Story
Oh yes, he did.
Dawn Teo over at the Huffington Post's blog wrote that last week, Arpaio said to GQ Magazine:
All these people that come over, they could come with disease. There's no control, no health checks or anything. They check fruits and vegetables, how come they don't check people? No one talks about that! They're all dirty. I sent out 200 inmates into the desert, they picked up 18 tons of garbage that they bring in -- the baby diapers and all that. Where's everybody who wants... Read Full Story
A few weeks ago, several hundred advocacy organizations demanded that the Obama administration overturn the aggressive enforcement policies that have alienated immigrant communities over the past eight years. The mounting opposition to one of the most controversial Bush Era anti-immigrant programs was joined this week by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
In a letter to the White House , Latino lawmakers called on the administration to "immediately terminate" 287(g) , which enables... Read Full Story
Univision's Jorge Ramos has been one of the only journalist in the U.S. to remind Obama about his promises of comprehensive immigration reform in the first year of his presidency. Last week, when Obama was running through the major network circuit discussing healthcare proposals, Ramos went off the beaten path and asked Obama a question we here at RaceWire have also been wondering about: Why is Obama using the term "illegal" now.
During the election Obama used the term "undocumented... Read Full Story
People do what they are driven to do . Some address general issues within society , other times they are more specific , and still others sort of work along a general line but still focused within a parameter. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is one of those types. An equal opportunity Sheriff, he will arrest any law-breaker , and house them accordingly.
How to deal with such an upstart ? By golly! Use the race card ! It’s always worked in the past after all! So, what do the people in the obamanure... Read Full Story
(An excerpt from the third part in the Reyes the Rainmaker series.) Although a supporter of comprehensive immigration reform, U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-Tx.)is a major force in Congress for more border security. But unlike many border security advocates, Reyes opposed building border fences along open, nonurban stretches of the border. He has won praise from immigrant rights advocates for both his support for immigration reform and his opposition to the border wall part of DHS’ Secure... Read Full Story
Beginning on October 1st the Mexican border patrol will begin cutting the number of agents stationed at the Mexican border as authorized by the Obama administration. Some of the agents will be relocated on the Canadian border. These agents will be removed from the sections of the Mexican border that are deemed under control.
The border patrol will be reducing their numbers by 384 agents. The theory is that these agents are being removed from sections of the border that the government... Read Full Story
Mexicans also Feel Mexican-Americans Should Be Loyal to Mexico
WASHINGTON — A new survey by Zogby International finds that people in Mexico think that granting legal status to illegal immigrants would encourage more illegal immigration to the United States. As the top immigrant-sending country for both legal and illegal immigrants, views on immigration in Mexico can [...] Read Full Story
Crossing the U.S. Border is easy if you pile 20 plus people into 1 vehicle. Most of the time there's only 1 or 2 Border Patrol agents. As soon as the time is right...Everyone RUN!! RUN I say!! The odds are in favor for the 800 fleeing illegals vs the 2 La Migras.
In all seriousness this is really a big problem. Agents and illegals are in danger.
