And why is he not on his way to jail like so many other of Illinois' politicians? First, a little background for those of you who need it. Governor "Rod" Blagojevich currently has an amazing approval rating of 13%. An approval rating lower than Truman ever had, lower than the current President Bush, and more than 10 points lower than California's Gov. Gray Davis at the time of the famed recall election that put " Arnold" in charge. The ... Read Full Story

The arrest and indictment of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is becoming a tragic farce, with the transcripts of the wiretaps that are in the indictment showing a man completely unaware that there was anything wrong with his obviously corrupt behavior. But despite the fact that he has been indicted, Blagojevich will still be Governor and still, under Illinois Law, can appoint Obama’s successor. Blagojevich’s self-serving vanity means that despite the storm over his head, he may still try to appoint someone to the Senate seat that Barack Obama vacated. So there are various ideas about what can be done to prevent Blagojevich from filling ... Read Full Story

Rep Jack Franks (D-Woodstock) was a loyal follower of old King Rod Blagojevich way back in the early days of the Governor's takeover of the state government for his personal pleasure. Former governor Rod Blagojevich's motion to move back his trial has been denied. Judge James Zagel disagreed, saying that either way the current start date of June 2010 should give both sides plenty of time to prepare. [WBEZ...

AP Photo/Seth Perlman, File. He just won't go away. And even though he's already started filming on the show, former governor Rod Blagojevich still doesn't know if he'll be allowed on the reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice. The Government has agreed to sever the trial of William Cellini, a co-defendant of former Ill. Governor Rod Blagojovech. The reason: After dismissing the charges against deceased Chris Kelly, who was the link between Cellini and Blago, and because Cellini's charges, while he was named an unindicted co-conspirator in Blago's counts, had very little to do with either Blagojevich, absent the tie-in from Cellini, the Government agreed that it was...
