  One of the unique places I like to visit in Lynchburg is The Old City Cemetery . Established in 1806, on land donated by John Lynch, the founder of Lynchburg, it's a beautiful, peaceful place in the heart of the city. It's been lovingly restored and over the last several years and has become a popular place with families and for field trips. Lynchburg is known as the Hill City and the rolling hills in the cemetery with its mature landscaping add to its beauty. The cobblestone road encourages you to drive slowly through.
