I have been missing my music! Not that I haven't been communicating with musicians but sometimes life interferes with heading out and meeting all the musicians and seeing the shows. I have some podcasts that finally are done and coming out of their dungeon and more will be coming. This one features one of my favorite musicians (and good friend) Keaton Simons whose career arc I have been following for quite some time.

Posted by awakesometimes There is a problem within a sector of my generation that somehow thrives on failed romantics and emotional pain. Almost as if we somehow get some sick pleasure on it. We adore painful breakup songs and manage to get wrapped up in them. Sometimes even finding ways to somehow envy that sort of weird pain that the songwriter must have been feeling to relate those emotions to someone who doesn't particularly feel those things at that moment. It's a ghoulish bit of... Read Full Story
Its April already! Kinda sad to see March leave though, it was quite a month. Here are a few of my favorite moments of 03/08.
Vampire Weekend’s Pop Fame
This month Vampire Weekend was the cover of Spin Magazine sending their self-titled debut up to top 10 iTunes Stardom. I even hear them on Top 40 radio stations!

Hello. Today, we’re going to learn about five bands that are truly awesome. If you haven’t heard them before, you’re missing out on the finer things in life. And if you have heard them before…you’ll realize how right I am. These bands span across a few music types (well, it’s rock, but still very different), but they have two things in common:
I actually paid money for their albums
Female vocalists
Music with female vocalists is the best, so you’re in for a treat.

It's hard to say that our favorite band ( Radiohead ) could be beaten in any one category, but since we've been following Bloc Party for so long we realized they have a few attributes that make them rise above the rest. If you've followed our site, you probably already know we're a big fan of remixes , especially from our favorite groups. Bloc Party has done it right with their latest remix ploy on their official website to draw more fanfare to their upcoming Intimacy Remixed album... Read Full Story
MUSIC NEWS - The first 7 Worlds Collide album, a gathering of amazing musical talents from across the world to aid Médecins Sans Frontières ( Doctors Without Borders ), was a unique live performance experience, combining the varied talents of a stellar cast across a range of cover versions to create a series of concerts that culminated in the live album of the same name. Seven years after that project, instigator Neil Finn now brings us the new 7 Worlds Collide project, The Sun Came... Read Full Story
Sony 7 Worlds Collide is like an alt-folk “We Are The World” with admittedly fewer people of color. Headed up by Crowded House frontman Neil Finn, the second release from this international supergroup is an OxFam benefit double album featuring completely new material. After the success of the group’s first outing in April 2001, this newly reconvened and reassembled motley crew of performers has created a mellow collection of rock tunes for a laid-back audience that would rather nod heads and... … For those who have only just discovered the internet, or those who are so on the cutting edge that they have completely rejected the music of Animal Collective on the grounds that it’s “too popular” or “overhyped”, I just thought I’d drop down a word or two about their new “Fall Be Kind” EP. Yes, I say “new” when really I mean “virtually prehistoric in the hypem.com age”, but I had been concentrating all my efforts recently on my university interviews last week. Which, as it happened...
