Irina Shaykhlislamova was born January 6, 1986, in Yemanzhelinsk, Russia, a town near the border between Russia and Kazakhstan. The 5-foot, 10-inch fashion model was discovered in 2004 while taking the long 3-day train ride from Chelyabinsk to Moscow.

Irina now goes by Irina Sheik, and is also often credited as Irina Shayk. Her work has been featured in major ad campaigns for Guess, LaCoste and Intimissimi. Most recently, the slender, green-eyed model was featured for the 3rd time in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue.
