AMERICAN wrestling star Matt Morgan says he has been cast as a villain in Iron Man 2.
It adds another interesting twist to the tumultuous casting process for the Iron Man sequel due out in May 2010.
Samuel L Jackson has finally been confirmed to return as Nick Fury after refusing an initial offer, Emily Blunt is no longer able to play super-spy Black Widow and Mickey Rourke is in on-off negotiations following a low offer of $250,000 to play a villain - his part was reported to be either... NEW characters for the Iron Man sequel could include Black Widow and Crimson Dynamo, according to a possible casting call posted online.
I've not yet been able to verify if this is official and genuine, but information on SpoilerTV claims filming will begin in April next year and that the studio is looking for the following: A male lead, 30s, Eastern European, brilliant, gritty; a female lead, 20s, beautiful, speaks several languages fluently and is equally proficient in martial arts; and... One of the trickier problems you find in superhero movies is that the whole creation vs. story question is always an issue for the script. How much time are we going to spend working out how the superhero came to be, and how much are we going to include some actual “story” in a bigger picture sense?
The trouble with Iron Man is that it really only has the introduction piece. It leaves out story in favor of a bit of commercial which is anti-war, or anti-weapons, or anti... Read Full Story
DIRECTOR Jon Favreau has brought in award-winning animator Genndy Tartakovsky to work on Iron Man 2.
A sequence in the first Iron Man, where the armoured hero uses shoulder-mounted missile launchers, had been inspired by the rhythm and style of a lightsabre fight from the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated TV series, which was directed by Tartakovsky for George Lucas. The series won three Emmy awards.
Favreau (pictured above) said he had decided to ask the animator to become involved in... Read Full Story

We all know that
Iron Man 2 is on the way - hell, we kind of
knew that before the first
Iron Man hit theaters - so I'm a little puzzled
that the band is already being broken up a bit. Instead of bringing
screenwriting duos Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and Art Marcum and Matt Holloway,
The Hollywood Reporter says that
actor-writer
Justin Theroux is taking over the script for
the sequel.
Though you probably don't know his work in front of the
camera as well if at all... Read Full Story
IT was in January 2007 that Lionsgate released the animated direct-to-DVD feature The Invincible Iron Man, just over a year before the live-action movie blasted into the box office.
This 80-minute cartoon is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the hit movie - which starred Robert Downey Jr as billionaire inventor Tony Stark who fashions a hi-tech metallic suit, at first to stay alive after a life-threatening injury and then to fight crime.
Instead, this is an alternative version of the... Read Full Story
First off, I like Robert Downey Jr. He's a very versatile actor. Any role he is in is brilliant, (Heart and Souls being a favorite) and Iron Man is no exception. He delivers lines almost as if he were making them up as he went along. His playful banter with other characters and various machines and small bits of comedy make the film very enjoyable to watch, and the events surrounding his capture and the first half of the film hit too close to home, adding to the films realism. We get the... Read Full Story
Be a Superhero Rarely do we have such a believable hero. There is a touching moment at the end of Iron Man when Tony Starks admits that he has too many character flaws to be a superhero. It reminds me of the theme song of Blank Man (haha, great movie) "be a superhero". In a world where Stark Enterprises produces the biggest baddest weapons known to man, the CEO of the death manufacturing plant, goes AWOL and decides to have an epiphany after being abducted by terrorist. That's a mouthful, no... Read Full Story
