Irving Levine Passes Away

The NBC newsman who was able to provide millions of Americans on the vague subject of economics, Irvine Levine passed away at the age of 86. The death was confirmed by Kevin Ross, the president of Lynn University in Boca Raton where the anchorman taught after retiring from NBC.

During his career, his trademark was his bow ties and controlled delivery of the news made him a fixture at NBC since 1950. Irving Levine started his career covering the Korean War and continued on his stellar career until he retired from the desk of NBC. He focused on economic news starting 1971 and as he neared retirement, he did weekly commentaries on the US economy on CNBC. He also was one of the “regulars” on “Meet the Press” as he appeared on the famed show over one hundred episodes. After retirement, Irvine Levine joined the Lynn University faculty as the dean of the college of International Communication.
