Isabella Blow's Fabled Fashion Collection Up for Auction

Getty Images. The late Isabella Blow's wardobe is going up for auction on Sept. 15 at Christie's South Kensington. According to a Christie's spokeswoman, Blow's sisters are hoping to settle debts on her estate with the funds garnered from the auction.Blow is credited with having discovered the designer Alexander McQueen and acted as muse to avant-garde headwear designer Philip Treacy. Isabella Blow Suicide

Isabella Blow, an English magazine editor and style inspiration, committed suicide on May 6, 2007 during a weekend house party. She told guests she was going shopping, but was later found collapsed in a bathroom after drinking weedkiller. She died at the hospital the next day. It was originally thought her death was due to ovarian cancer, but it was later ruled a suicide.
