PAKISTAN, KARACHI: Partial strike is being observed in various cities of the country while incidents of violence and arson were also reported in Karachi and Sindh in protest of the killing of a banned sectarian outfit’s leader, Aaj News reported. Allama Ali Sher Haideri, chief of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, was killed with one of his associates when he was ambushed by unknown miscreants near Khairpur late night Sunday. KARACHI, Pakistan, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The leader of the Sipah-e-Sahaba, a banned Pakistani extremist group, was shot and killed by gunmen in Sindh Province, police said. Maulana Ali Sher Hyderi and his driver were attacked Monday in Khairpur district as they traveled in a car, the BBC reported. Hyderi was returning to Hyderabad, east of the port city of Karachi, after a speaking engagement. the district police chief told the BBC.
