Sad news this week, with the death Andy Hallet, who played Lorne in Angel. In a show full of characters, he stood out. In a part specially written for him by Joss Whedon, we had many an opportunity to listen to Andy’s wonderful voice. And talking of music, it seems the Playlist provider fell foul of the licensing issue that hit Youtube, so my play list had been decimated. Commonwealth Youth Games British successes to report: 100m gold for Shaunna Thompson , in a championship record of 11.46 seconds, whilst Curtis Griffith Parker also won gold and set a new games record with an incredible throw of 18.56m in the men’s shot put. Took Matt to see Ice Age3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (in 3D) - he loved it, so did I. Starts off a bit slowly, but suddenly it's heart in your mouth time as there's danger at every turn. Only, not really really bad obviously - it's a proper family film in every sense - and a very rewarding afternoon's entertainment, with just the cutest little cartoon animal you've ever seen (the whole cinema sighed a collective "Awwwww").
