Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher J.C. Romero has claimed victory in a lawsuit following an undisclosed cash settlement with the manufacturers and distributors of Ergopharm 6-OXO Extreme. Romero tested positive for the use of anabolic steroids under the Major League Baseball (MLB) Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program on August 26, 2008. The steroid positive came only six weeks prior to helping the Phillies win the World Series championship.

Back in 2008, J.C. Romero tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. Romero immediately blamed the supplement makers and distrubutors for tainted products.
Romero has reached a settlement in his lawsuit, and told the NY Daily News that "justice is served" and that the resolution "gives closure to the fans in (Philadelphia)."
The Players Association sent the supplement that Romero had been using to a lab in Tennessee to be tested. The results showed a tainted supplement.
