I had the James Dean Memorial Foundation in Hollywood. I wanted to raise funds to build a memorial statue of him. Then Curtis Licensing company told me I couldn't use his name or image to raise funding, but I could build a statue. Then they wanted the artist to pay a $60,000 licensing fee to build one. Kenneth Kendall had made a bronze bust of Dean now on display at the Griffith Park Observatory where scenes from REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE was filmed. Kenneth died in September 2006.
