Uma Thurman's Stalker Convicted

Uma Thurman can breathe a sigh of relief. After two days of deliberations, her crazy stalker has been found guilty of stalking and harassing the star.

Former mental patient Jack Jordan was convicted of stalking and aggravated harassment by the eight-man, four-woman jury yesterday. He was acquitted of two other charges of second-degree aggravated harassment.

Testimony in the case came to a climax when Thurman took the stand and stated she was "completely freaked out" by Jordan. Apparently he had sent an illustrated card, which had a picture of a bride, with her head hacked off, and a drawing of a stick figure next to a razor blade, with an arrow pointing into an open grave.

Can you blame her? That would freak anyone out.

The unemployed 37-year-old pool cleaner, who lives with his parents, could face up to one year in prison. He appears in court next month for sentencing. New York Criminal Court Judge Gregory Carro has ordered Jordan be taken into custody for a psychiatric evaluation.

Jordan's attorney has also requested his client be placed in protective custody, after he was assaulted in jail after his arrest. Thurman's stalker was arrested in October, outside her Greenwich Village home.

Before that Jordan had stalked the star for two years. Calling the actress and her family with unsettling messages, and showing up on the set of "My Super Ex-Girlfriend."

He once told his mother he believed him and Thurman were destined to be together. Freaky.

Jordan admitted on the stand that he was infatuated with the star, but claimed he was harmless, and that his messages were a result of his "ironic, kind of twisted sense of humor." Yeah, I'd say that's pretty twisted.

He says it was a "clumsy and poor way of expressing my emotions for her." I'd say so. Maybe he'll wise up and get it right next time. Women hate stalkers, and really don't appreciate gruesome drawings. Try flowers instead.
