J.Dylan and Prine At Edmonton Folk Fest 08/08/10

By acidica on  From acidica.blogspot.com
Sunday was the last day of this years Edmonton Folk Festival .Yet another beautiful day for the festival, all three nights we went were awesome weather wise. My buddy Buzzard and I went yet again, three out of five nights for this years fest. I went to the show early as I wanted to see a few of the workshops on the smaller stages. This almost didn't happen, as I wasn't aware that the ticket I had was only for the evening shows. I thought the ticket was for all day Sunday, but after having a...Read Full Story

Jakob Dylan returns with his second solo album Women and Country , which features musical artists Neko Case and Kelly Hogan as backup vocalists on 8 of the 11 tracks. The highly anticipated album reunites Dylan with longtime friend and Grammy winning producer T Bone Burnett, with whom he last collaborated on The Wallflowers’ chart topping 1996 record Bringing Down the Horse . “Everything we care about is an extension of women and country,” said Dylan about the album title, which is...Read Full Story

CD Review: Jakob Dylan ~ Women & Country

By offthedial on  From offthedial.ca
Imagine an old, sepia toned photograph: a house with a wide sitting porch; a woman in a flowered dress bringing in laundry from the line; her husband coming up the dirt driveway in a vintage Chevy truck after a long day at work; the American flag waving in the breeze. This kind of imagery spawned an entire genre of music.  It’s a little slice of Americana – just like J akob Dylan ’s second solo album Women & Country. He pays homage to the roots of American music – the beginnings of country...Read Full Story

The Wallflowers were led by Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan's son) they were touring for the album Breach at the time. I went to this show with Cuz, we decided at the last minute to go and ended up getting front row seats for this show. Front. In concert news...
