As with Buddy Holly, Bruce Lee, and Marilyn Monroe his death at a young age helped guarantee a legendary status. His enduring fame and popularity rests on only three films, his entire starring output. He was the first person to receive a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and remains the only person to have two such nominations posthumously.
Obviously, if you are a massive James Dean fan, this ad for a financial investment firm will be in the poorest possible taste. However, it says a lot for the execution of the ad that it leaves you in a somewhat reflective mood. Everyone says that I am an old soul in a young person's body, and yes,I think I just might be. Anyway, I want to profess my love for James Dean. Personally, I think he was great and we lost him too soon. I loved the way he talked or sometimes mumbeled.
