Steelers LB James Farrior said earlier in the offseason that he wanted to finish his career with the Steelers, and today he will get his wish. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Farrior and the team have come to terms on a five-year extension worth a reported $18.25 million. Farrior’s deal was set to expire at the end of this season, and now his new deal will take him through the 2012 season. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported today that cornerback Ike Taylor agreed to restructure his contract on Friday in order for the Pittsburgh Steelers to make more space under the salary cap to sign top draft pick. In 2006, Taylor signed an extension with the Steelers for 5-years at $23.75 million. Taylor's contract restructure reduces this year's salary to $1 million and gives him a $3 million signing bonus ($1 million over the next 3 years). It was just announced that James Farrior, Steelers veteran linebacker, has signed a 5-year extension allowing him to play through the 2012 season.
