In a recent Just Jared! post James McAvoy reveals that the six pack he sports in his new action movie,Wanted, is real. In just a few years, James has built a solid film career, wowing critics as Dr. Nicholas Garrigan in the Last King of Scotland, fluttering Jane Austen's heart in Becoming Jane, and playing the doomed lover in Atonement. James' role in Wanted represents his first foray as an action hero in an A-list movie. At the start of the film, James as Wesley Gibson, plays a mild-mannered office geek whose boring life is falling apart. He then learns that a father he ... Read Full Story

Wanted , directed by Timur Bekmambetov star James McAvoy (as Wesley Gibson) and Angelina Jolie (as Fox) with Morgan Freeman (as Sloan) in a supporting role. The 110 minute action flick has done what Matrix did for the movies of similar genere. Trinity's (of Matrix ) flying kick while the bad guys were in suspended motion in the opening scenes set the benchmark for futuristic films and redefined CGI's role in subsequent productions. Wanted, with the introduction of the 'curved projectile' (i.e. bullet), built on Matrix's legacy by adding CGI icing on an already sinful indulgence. The movie built on the 1000 year legacy ... Sony Pictures Classics has finally debuted a trailer for Michael Hoffman's The Last Station, an indie biopic about Russian author Leo Tolstoy. Christopher Plummer stars as Tolstoy and is joined by an all-star cast including James McAvoy as Valentin Bulgakov, Paul Giamatti as Vladimir Chertkov, and Helen Mirren as Sofya Tolstoy. While Plummer should be the central focus, I believe this film centers more on McAvoy, who plays Tolstoy's private...
