People close to the late UCONN running back Jasper Howard gathered in Miami for his funeral today. According to the Associated Press , each of his teammates carried a white rose tied with a blue ribbon (the UCONN colors) as they walked into the church. His teammates previously paid tribute to the player at a game against West Virginia on Saturday, when they carried his helmet and jersey before kickoff. John William Lomax III, 21, was charged with the murder of University of Connecticut football player Jasper Howard, 20. His defense attorney has maintained that he was just trying to break up a fight. Two others were charged in the fight that led to the untimely death of this promising young man.
