Today was day 2 of my time here in California for the Nutrilite Sport Blogger Event . I’m going to keep this update brief, since it’s just too much info to post, plus I have to be downstairs in less than an hour for dinner (dont’ want to hold anyone up). It started with us meeting in the lobby at 7 AM. I met the other bloggers plus some of the Nutrilite Staff. We were driven to the Nutrilite Center for Optimal Health for our health assessments. I am looking forward to those results, which will be mailed to us. Here is a group ... Read Full Story

Her previous best mark of 5.06m set at last month's Golden League meet in Zurich still stands. Isinbayeva won the women's pole vault event at the post-season IAAF event after clearing a height of 4.85m ahead of Poland's Anna Rogowska at 4.60m. Isinbayeva failed on her third attempt to set a new world record of 5.07m. The Russian pole vault queen came to Shanghai looking for redemption after failing to win a medal at the world championships in Berlin, where ... Read Full Story

Former World and Olympic champion Stacy Dragila has ended her 14-year pole vaulting career with a second-place finish at the DecaNation track and field meet. The 38-year-old American won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the first games in which women competed in the pole vault. She is a two-time world champion. Dragila told The Associated Press on Wednesday, "It was great to be a pioneer in this sport." After two seasons plagued by injury, Dragila returned to competition in 2008 but failed to make the U.S. Olympic team for the Beijing Games. At last month's world championships in Berlin, she didn't qualify for ... Read Full Story

Russian Yelena Isinbayeva roared back to the top of the women's pole vaulting charts after her disastrous Berlin world championships campaign by setting a new world record of 5.06 metres here on Friday. Isinbayeva, who failed with all three attempts as arch-rival Anna Rogowska of Poland claimed gold at the recently-concluded worlds, bettered her previous best mark of 5.05m set at the Beijing Olympics. "Now I understand why there was that defeat in Berlin - to have this amazing result," said Isinbayeva. "It's like a dream, it's hard to believe." Isinbayeva had admitted to being "over-confident" going into the world championships which finished last ... Read Full Story

2004

Jenn Stuczynski took up the pole vault in 2004 at Roberts Wesleyan.

2005

In 2005, she won the 2005 NAIA indoor national title in the pole vault with a 4.00m (13ft 1½ in) clearance, following that up with a win at the 2005 USA Indoor championships in Boston, soaring over 4.35m (14ft 3¼ in).

2006

Jenn Stuczynski started the 2006 indoor season by setting personal bests at nearly every meet and becoming the #2 American all time, behind only Stacy Dragila, with her clearance of 4.68m (15ft 4¼ in). She captured her first USA Outdoor title with her winning clearance of 4.55m (14ft 11in) at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Championships. She finished third at the 2006 World Athletics Final.

2007

On May 20, 2007, Jenn broke the American outdoor pole vault record at the Adidas Track Classic in Carson, California, beating a talented group including an Olympic champion to become the top pole vaulter in the country. She reached the record height of 15 feet, 10-1/2 inches, beating the American record set by Stacy Dragila in 2004 by a half inch. She was the only vaulter to clear 15 feet. She was successful on her first try at 15ft 3in and after a failed first attempt at the new record, cleared the bar on her second try.

On June 2, 2007 at the Reebok Grand Prix, Jenn cleared 4.88m (16ft), becoming only the second woman in the world to do so. After clearing 14ft 7in and 15ft 3in on her first attempts to seal the victory, Stuczynski took three attempts at 16 feet, clearing the bar on her final try to eclipse by one and a half inches the American record she had set the previous month. The only woman who has vaulted higher is the Russian Yelena Isinbayeva, who holds the world record, 5.01m (16 ft 5¼ in). Another Russian, Svetlana Feofanova, has also vaulted 4.88m. Stuczynski then tried to vault over Isinbayeva. The bar was raised to 5.02m (16ft 6in), and she came tantalizingly close to clearing it on the second of her three attempts.

2008

Jenn Stuczynski won the Indoor US Nationals which also bought her a ticket into the 2008 IAAF Indoor World Championships in Valencis, Spain where she finished second on a countback to the Russian World Record Holder Yelena Isinbayeva. Both cleared 4.75 metres (15.58 ft).
