Isinbayeva fails to set new pole vault record
Russian Yelena Isinbayeva failed to set a new world record in the women's pole vault at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix meet on Sunday.
Her previous best mark of 5.06m set at last month's Golden League meet in Zurich still stands.
Isinbayeva won the women's pole vault event at the post-season IAAF event after clearing a height of 4.85m ahead of Poland's Anna Rogowska at 4.60m.
Isinbayeva failed on her third attempt to set a new world record of 5.07m.
The Russian pole vault queen came to Shanghai looking for redemption after failing to win a medal at the world championships in Berlin, where she was chasing an unprecedented third consecutive world gold.
