Jered Weaver

Jered Weaver

Jered Weaver is a professional baseball player. He's a right-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels and wears number 56. He is managed by pitching manager Bud Black.

Bottom Line Reboot

Life has been a little wacky for BL Rob lately, but the storm has passed and it's time to get back to business.

The Red Sox have won 9 of their last 10 and will host the Angels over the next three days. Tonight, Captain Kick-ass faces Jered Weaver - here's the skinny:

Josh Beckett threw 105 pitches through 8 solid innings against the Yankees in his last outing. He K'd five and walked only one. I was concerned after his first start of the year, but my fears were washed away with the performance.

Now he gets a shot at the Angels - at team that he has dominated as of late. Including last year’s postseason start, Captain Kick-ass is 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA in five appearances versus the Angels, walking eight and striking out 30.

Nobody on the Angels can hit Beckett (.220 team BA) and Vladdy's team leading 23 ABs have earned him a .217 BA with 7 strikeouts. Beckett is 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 4 starts against the Halos... but this Rally Monkey lovers are batting .306 on the road and .293 on the season...

That said, the Red Sox have the best team BA in the majors at .297 and they're 8-2 at Fenway this year.

As if that weren't enough to make Weaver wet his pants, he's 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA and a .326 BAA in 2 starts at Fenway.

Your Match-up to Watch is David Ortiz vs Weaver - Ortiz is batting .500 with 2 HRs and 7 RBI against Weaver.

Yuke is 4-12 (.333) with a homer and even Lugo is 4-8 (.500) with a HR and 3 RBI.

Bottom Line: The stage is set for a dominating performance by everyone wearing red socks tonight... I don't expect to be disappointed.
