Thanks to the fine folks at Sports International Football Camps , I got my hands on an authentic (I checked) Jeremiah Trotter autographed football. Anyone want it? If you’re interested, email me at stunstall72@gmail.com . I’ll be doing a random drawing to decide a winner. If there aren’t any takers, no problem. I have a nice spot on my shelf for it. I don’t give away Eagles ‘ swag very often, so I suggest you Trot fans take advantage. I’ll announce the winner next Friday. By the way, there is still time to sign up for Trotter’s football camp being held June 23-26th at ... Read Full Story

After two workouts for Andy Reid and the Eagles coaching staff, Jeremiah Trotter has been signed to a one-year contract worth the league minimum. The former fan favorite at middle linebacker is now starting his third stint with the team, last playing for the Eagles in the 2006 season. To make room for Trotter on the 53-man roster, Jeff Garcia has been released. Trotter was a force in the middle with the Eagles for years. His run blocking ability earned him four Pro-Bowl berths in his years in Philadelphia. Reid apparently thinks he is physically ready to rejoin the NFL and be a productive ... Read Full Story

Filed under: Packers , NFC North This is a slightly modified segment of one that was run on NFL FanHouse last year, in which a specific team blogger scours the internet and interviews a blogger of the opposing team. I began this season by interviewing Sean Portnoy of Eagles Eye , a Most Valuable Network column that covers the Philadelphia Eagles. Dan Benton: “Another year, another group of receivers for the Philadelphia Eagles. Who will be Donovan McNabb ’s go-to guy this weekend?” Sean Portnoy: “ Reggie Brown had a fine season in his second year, serving as the #2 guy when Donte Stallworth ... Read Full Story

Filed under: Buccaneers , Eagles , Philadelphia , Tampa Bay Although most people seem to think Tampa Bay is his most likely landing spot, former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter still hasn’t found a new home. What’s taking so long? It might be that no team wants to guarantee his salary, which is the practical effect of having him on the opening-day roster. From ESPN In$ider : Trotter might wait another week or two before signing with a new franchise. The Bucs brought Trotter in for a visit, but he would have to go to Tampa Bay as a backup to first-year starter Barrett Ruud ... Read Full Story

Filed under: Buccaneers , NFL Free Agency , Tampa Bay ESPNews, Pro Football Talk and PewterReport.com are reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed linebacker Jeremiah Trotter . The addition of Trotter should make an immediate difference to the Bucs’ defense, as he’s a tough, smart player who won’t take long to learn a new system. At the same time, the Tampa Bay system that coordinator Monte Kiffin runs is not a particularly good fit for Trotter. Middle linebackers in the Tampa 2 tend to be smaller and faster than the 262-pound Trotter, and he is more likely to be a situational player ... Read Full Story

One of the last memories of Jeremiah Trotter with the Philadelphia Eagles was him hugging Brian Dawkins goodbye after he was released in 2007. Now, it appears that the third time may be a charm for Trotter and the Eagles. After a couple of workouts, the Philadelphia Eagles announced today that they have signed linebacker Jeremiah Trotter to a one-year deal for his third stint with the team. It is obvious Jeremiah Trotter's value as a football player has diminished. At 32, the four-time Pro Bowler no longer can move the way he once did, and his return to the Eagles has made us wonder why the team and the player felt his comeback could be a success.
