Abbott started to skate at age four because he saw Robin Cousins skate in a show in Aspen, Colo. ... Participated in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program ... Competed in ice dancing with Amanda Cunningham (1995-1996), Katie Hoffmaster (1997-1998) and pairs with Brittany Vise (1998-1999) and Krystal Sorenson (2001-2002) ... Previously coached by Peggy Behr in Aspen... Overcame stress fracture in lower back during summer 2003 ... Started a fund with the Aspen Skating Club to support competitive local male figure skaters ... Has a passion for music but says "cannot play an instrument to save my life" ... Hobbies include drawing, writing, anything involving music, snowboarding and reading ... Sister was a national-level downhill ski racer and competed in the X-Games for extreme skiing ... Something not many people would know is that he has a tattoo ... Biggest life-defining moment was winning the junior title at the State Farm 2005 U.S. Championships ...
