NASCAR has asked a federal court to stop lawyers for suspended driver Jeremy Mayfield from collecting information from the ex-wife of chairman Brian France. NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield tested positive for methamphetamine again this past week, even as Mayfield continues to insist that he isn’t taking the drug.
In court filings logged today as part of Mayfield’s protest to overturn his recent suspension, NASCAR said that Mayfield failed a drug test back on July 6th…this is in addition to the test he flunked in May. The document says that the urine sample collected on July 6th “conclusively” proved that Mayfield had been taking meth.
