According to the Arizona Republic, troubled Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens was sentenced to 12 days in jail and fined $3,160 for his March 2007 arrest on drunken driving and other violations. As would be expected, Stevens’ attorney is expected to appeal the sentence. Stevens could have received 30 days in jail, but 18 of those days were suspended since Stevens is attending an NFL-required rehabilitation program. Since I've missed a few weeks of posting, I thought I'd catch up with some issues dealing with the Bucs today. Michael Pittman- This past week, former Buc Michael Pittman signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos. I believe this might signal some serious issues the Broncos are having with troubled RB Travis Henry by adding experience at the position. It's been interesting to see how much controversy has been created by the Bucs re-signing Stevens at the TE position. A Seattle paper came out last year with reports about alleged rape allegations while he was in college, with no criminal charges filed. But this week the Slant Pete Times and the Gruden hating 620 WDAE , which happens to be the flagship station of the Bucs , has come down hard on the ownership by re-signing Stevens.
