Before you scoff at the headline, bear with me for a minute. Because he was a #1 draft pick and plays for a big market team, Derrick Rose has been the recipient of a lot of hype. And some of it deserved. He's got a lot of potential as a player. But I've been watching Chicago play a lot this year (and last), and I'm pretty confident when I say that if Jerryd Bayless were to take over the starting PG spot for the Bulls, he would contribute...

Jason Quick of the Oregonian reports (via blog):
Trail Blazers guard Jerryd Bayless sprained his left ankle about an hour before tip off of Saturday’s game in Charlotte as he was returning to the locker room.
Bayless rolled his ankle on a disguised step that is hidden by carpet. The six-inch drop off is in a dimly [...]

I have been very optimistic about the prospects of Jerryd Bayless as a combo guard who could serve as our PG of the future.
I have been very cautious about playing Jerryd a lot right now, because he hasn't really looked at ease in the PG role.
I'm ready to put all of those aside for the moment and suggest that this next game, against the Warriors, is a great game for Bayless, just as he is, to play some significant minutes. Why, you ask...

The Trail Blazers have way too much talent on their roster. They have a great young player in Jerryd Bayless who isn't getting on the floor. Though he did get some minutes in the San Antonio game and he looked good. I think if the Blazers continue to keep Bayless on the bench then they'll have trouble keeping him happy and eventually they'll have to get rid of him. Which, I think would be a big loss because I think someday Bayless is going to...

Fact: Prior to the season, the consensus for preferred starting lineup for the 'Zers was R.A.M.B.O. After Batum's surgery they resorted to R.A.W.B.O and went 2-3. By inserting Andre Miller into the lineup for Friday's game Nate created another R.A.M.B.O. combination and the Blazers won by their largest margin of the year.
Fact: Jerryd Bayless saw his first action of the year. The Blazers are 1-0 when Bayless plays...

People keep asking about Jerryd Bayless's progress. It's almost as if he's a lottery talent that hasn't played much and no one has any idea what he's capable of or where he's at. Oh, right.
Like I wrote yesterday, during the open sessions of camp Bayless is going 110% at his fellow point guards. Not always with perfect results. But he's taking no prisoners. After one play today, he walked to the sideline, picked up the garbage bucket...

I think we need to trade Jerryd Bayless. He's being wasted sitting on the bench and he wont be seeing any more playing time this season. He'll never be that point guard we're all looking forward to. He's more of a hybrid guard whose specialty is scoring. Not only is that what he does best, but its what he's naturally inclined to do. Bayless could thrive in a different system and I can see him becoming a great player in the NBA but he's gonna...
