How Good is Jersey Boys?

There is no doubt that the current spate of huge musicals such asWicked, South Pacific and Jersey Boys have been some of the most successful musicals on Broadway ever. One of the newer ones, Jersey Boys has been overwhelmingly well received by the theatre-going public around the world. In 2004, Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, CA and told the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. having established its success, the musical moved to Broadway in 2005, and landed both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award. A year later, the Jersey Boys Tour took off at San Francisco's Curran Theatre, and the show has since been incredibly successful on international stages. Playing at several locations at the same time audiences in Melbourne, Toronto, Las Vegas, and all over America have a chance to see this fantastic live show.

They immediately seek out the show and every show is a sell out as the sound is exciting and new.

The gifted star cast that is featured by the play has made the Jersey Boy tickets a genre by itself. The job of Tommy DeVito has been played by Christian Hoff. Regardless of the green cast they portray the events of the Boys lives to perfection. The non-singing cast specifically Mark Lotitio can not be neglected owing to his efficient performance in numerous roles.

The Jersey Boys Musical Broadwayis an adaptation of the book of the same name authored by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. Bob Crewe is the lyricist while the outstanding music has been composed by Bob Gaudio. The director for the show is Des McAnuff who has 'The Who's Tommy' play to his credit.

Prior to the show I was OK with the Four Seasons music, but after hearing it in this show it sounded much better to me. The other part that I liked was the fact that there was an actual story. I am not normally a big "musical" fan, but this one was good because people didn't break into song at the drop of a hat.The songs were very well placed, but there was a real story and real dialog.
