Jevan Snead is viewed by many as a top pick for the 2010 NFL draft. With the 2009 NFL draft now over and done with, it's time to settle down into the long lull in between the excitement of draft season. Or just look forward to next year's draft. Among those touted to go high in the 2010 draft is Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead . From an article at Hawgs Illustrated.com: The lead story on cbssportsline.com's NFL Draft page, penned by senior writer Pete Prisco and tagged “Early Warning,” projects that a quarterback will be taken No. 1 again in the 2010 draft. ... Jevan Snead's got no rhythm. The Mississippi quarterback has been noticeably out of sync this season, completing less than 50 percent of his passes, and the No. 21 Rebels are suffering for it. He'll miss a simple pass to the flat, then complete a difficult throw into coverage. His general lack of consistency resembles his early struggles last year — struggles he figured were behind him after he guided Ole Miss on a six-game winning streak to end last season. "I was hoping to get into a rhythm quicker this year but obviously haven't been able to do that," Snead said. "That's one of ... Read Full Story

Freshman Rodney Scott rushed for two touchdowns for Mississippi and was one of four players to score their first career touchdowns in the win. The Rebels had just 45 yards of total offense in the first quarter, then scored on six consecutive possessions. UAB quarterback ... Read Full Story

Wins over Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana were nice, but Mississippi expects to receive a stronger test in the Southeastern Conference opener against the Gamecocks. Mississippi wasn't ready for the Top 5 — or South Carolina's defense. Star passer Jevan Snead was hounded all game and the fourth-ranked Rebels never got in gear, losing to South Carolina 16-10 Thursday night. South Carolina (3-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) had been 1-31 all-time against Top 5 foes, but left Williams-Brice Stadium with the biggest win of coach Steve Spurrier's five seasons. Spencer Lanning kicked three field goals and fullback Patrick DiMarco a key 2-yard TD catch for the Gamecocks. Ole Miss (2-1, 0-1) had one last chance at a go-ahead TD that would've extended its eight-game winning streak. But Snead was sacked ... Read Full Story
