A Mississippi spokesman says running back Dexter McCluster spent Tuesday night in the hospital because of flu symptoms. McCluster, a versatile star for the sixth-ranked Rebels, was released Wednesday morning but did not attend the afternoon practice. McCluster is one of 22 players — or about 20 percent of the team — who are in some stage of the flu. The list includes starting quarterback Jevan Snead. Officials believe it is the swine flu and are following U.S. Centers for Disease Control... Read Full Story

Jevan Snead's got no rhythm. The Mississippi quarterback has been noticeably out of sync this season, completing less than 50 percent of his passes, and the No. 21 Rebels are suffering for it. He'll miss a simple pass to the flat, then complete a difficult throw into coverage. His general lack of consistency resembles his early struggles last year — struggles he figured were behind him after he guided Ole Miss on a six-game winning streak to end last season. "I was hoping to get into a... Read Full Story

South Carolina (3-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) had been 1-31 all-time against Top 5 foes, but left Williams-Brice Stadium with the biggest win of coach Steve Spurrier's five seasons. Spencer Lanning kicked three field goals and fullback Patrick DiMarco a key 2-yard TD catch for the... Read Full Story
