Jill Greenberg ambushes McCain in Atlantic photo shoot

The site of the photographer Jill Greenberg is called The Manipulator - not The Nice Girl or User Friendly. A cursory glance at her Google listings makes clear that her reputation precedes her. Yet when The Atlantic discovered that photos she had taken of John McCain for the magazine's 2008 cover, had been doctored - they were severely put out. Maybe they should have been less naive in the first place.

The Atlantic got their cover image of McCain. Greenberg went ahead and manipulated other photos of the Senator from the photo shoot with captions such as "I am a blood thirsty warmonger" and put them up on her site.

Jill Greenberg staged a sting - used a strobe light placed on the floor that backlit McCain and made him appear menacing. Apparently Mac's infinite sense of his own grandeur, never caused him to twig that Greenberg was setting him up.

It was an ambush. A photo 'shoot' in more ways than one and Greenberg pulled it off beautifully - nailed her prey with more skill than any Alaska moose hunter. Of course the usual accusations of professional misconduct have followed - but given McCain's own track record, he is hardly some kind of role model for the ethically minded.

McCain was behind Bush 90% of the time - back when the Bush administration conned America and used Colin Powell as their mouthpiece at the UN to sell a pack of lies about Saddam's alleged WMD.

Many of the players behind the monumental betrayal of America in those years will never face justice - moreover America (at least half of it) is seriously considering electing team McFailin - McCain and Palin - for more of the McSame. Despite her efforts to tone it down lately, the Alaskan governor is a right wing extremist whose rhetoric makes Bush seem restrained.

Jill Greenberg is an artist, not a politician. Her "offense" is negligible compared to the damage done by Bush and his buddy-in-arms McCain ... damage that may yet continue depending on the outcome of this US election.

McCain's recent tactics on the campaign trail give the lie to any pretense of honor and "straight talk". Jill Greenberg ripped off McCain's mask at some professional cost to herself. Her 'offense' is barely a blip on the screen compared to what McCain has been a party to over the years.
