When Senator Jim Webb flew to Burma and bartered for the release of John William Yettaw he condoned torture, rape and genocide. Also, Webb offered a hint of legitimization to the criminal regime of Than Shwe. Though well intended his efforts added insult to injury to an already suffering nation and I have to ask, how far beyond stupid are you? Not only did Sen. Webb pour salt in the wound of a suffering people he facilitated the release of a criminal. The criminal succeeded in keeping Daw Aung San Suu Kyi imprisoned for at least 18 more months to the joy of the morally ... Read Full Story

Every once in a while, the American people are treated to a politician who seems to lead more on principle and ideals than merely on the revolving door policy of getting re-elected. Though in these times of two-party politics, a politician who hopes to really make a difference must generally choose one party or the other, such a politician as previously described seems to be almost above partisan politics, because the issues they foster become more important than the party they represent. I am a big fan of Senator James Webb. I am a big fan because he is a true conservative and in the biggest decision of the last 10 years, whether to take the United States into a long term war with no end in site or not, he was absolutely right in saying we should not do it. He was, actually, prophetic in his prediction of what would happen if went to war in Iraq and he wrote it down in a Washington Post Article so no one can dispute that he made the call. I attach a copy of the article for ... Read Full Story

Jim Webb is not at all happy that Barack Obama plans to travel to Copenhagen next week and pledge that the US will act to halt climate change. In a letter to Obama, Webb argues that the president does not have "unilateral power" to promise anything to the rest of the world. Instead, Webb contends, Obama should sit around and wait for the Senate to do something about the problem. "I would like to express my concern regarding reports that the...
