Jimi Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) was an American rock legend. He was a singer, songwriter and guitarist, considered to be one of the most influential electric guitarists in rock music history. He achieved worldwide fame in 1967, when he played at the Monterey Pop Festival, then headlined the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival before his death in 1970, at the age of 27. In 1969 I was 4 years old, however my sister filled the house with the sounds of the 60's. I like the Jimi Hendrix the best out of all the performers with his raw talent. Here He plays the National Anthem. My daughter who is in college at Western Michigan University is a flower child. Kids Her age are re-living the 60's fads today. On This Date in 1967: The Monkees kicked off their U.S. tour in Jacksonville, Florida with the Jimi Hendrix Experience as their support act. Hendrix would be dropped from the bill after eight concerts. I think we can guess why.
