" Blessed are those who make peace. " Bible President Carter was the only American president who brought peace to Israel by dragging in the Egyptians away from the rejectionist front and essentially reducing it to a bilious blathering club. President Clinton tried hard and almost got an accord. The Geneva Accords and the accords at Taba were approved by the Palestinians and the Israelis, however the regime change in Washington ended the pursuit of peace For the last decade there has been little progress in the Middle East, and things have gotten bad to worse. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is seen at ... Read Full Story

Fox News and other right-wingers are now playing gotcha with what they see as a vulnerability in an otherwise almost invulnerable celebration/inauguration - drawing a "connection" between someone on Obama's lineup of religious leaders, hence his "side", and .... lots of ooohs and ahhhs and looks of fear and loathing, please ... TERRORISM. Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America, is one of many religious leaders scheduled to speak at the prayer service at Washington's National Cathedral. Mattson has been the guest of honor at State Department dinners and has met with senior Pentagon officials during the Bush administration. She also ... Read Full Story

Jimmy Carter was trashing George Bush . I almost felt like defending the president . Well, not really--if I ever start to feel like that please call for the doctor. But, when I read his remarks in the New York Times , I did almost spit out my Coca Cola, well, actually I did, well actually it sorta girgled up and out my nose and I chortled a bit. Anyone who has read a bit of history, or lived thorough the period, knows Jimmy Carter presided over an idyllic presidency. There were sky high gas prices, which put a drag on the economy. In ... While we don’t agree with everything Jimmy Carter did or said during his presidency, he is still the best former president the U.S. has ever had. In addition, he did as much or more than any other U.S. president to put human rights on the map — probably more. Haaretz is right in their editorial that follows. May God twice bless the Jews who stand up especially right inside Israel against war-mongers and for peacemakers. The government of Israel is boycotting Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, during his visit here this week. Ehud Olmert, who has not managed to achieve ... Read Full Story

Up to last year, most Americans believed that Jimmy Carter was the worst President in American history. But, right now, Americans are more fearful and more uncertain about the future of their country, than they were during the years that Carter was President (1977 - 1981). Obama has not even completed a year in office, yet the country is on the verge of economic collapse. Does anyone believe that America can afford to fight and win a war with...

In the lower categories of the Grammys, unmentioned on Wednesday's primetime nomination special, is where some of the more unexpected names popped up. That was the case, as usual, in the spoken word category, where Jimmy Carter is a nominee for the audiobook of his "We Can Have Peace in the Holy Land" against Carrie Fisher's reading of her own "Wishful Drinking." Also in the category is Michael J. Fox reading his "Always Looking Up" and...

I said it when Jimmy Carter did it, and I'll say it now:  former presidents and vice presidents should not attempt to conduct freelance foreign policy when they're out of office--particularly not presidents and vice presidents like Jimmy Carter and Dick Cheney, who are not generally regarded as having presided over America's finest hours, internationally speaking.  If Dick Cheney is so worried about Obama looking weak, he should maybe not try...

According to Don Imus, it's the late-1970s all over again, and not in a good way.  Imus appeared on the Fox News Channel's Nov. 24 "Hannity" program and had some disparaging words for the current administration's economic policy. He told viewers that Obama's associations with Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers weren't the problem (h/t Erick Erickson at RedState.com). "You had me convinced - yes, he was. But you had me convinced that Jeremiah...

Fred Barnes: It's like Jimmy Carter never left town By: Fred Barnes OpEd ContributorNovember 9, 2009 Republican conservatives and moderates are at each other's throats.
