Ville Koistinen scored the only shootout goal to give the Nashville Predators a 5-4 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night. Jason Arnott, back in the Predators' lineup after an 11-game absence because of a concussion, had two goals and an assist to help Nashville match Anaheim and St. Louis with 86 points in the Western Conference playoff chase. The Blue Jackets are sixth, three points ahead of Nashville, Anaheim and St. Louis. Shea Weber and Radek Bonk also scored for Nashville. Keith Tkachuk scored twice for the first time since opening night and added an assist, helping the St. Louis Blues clinch their first playoff berth in four seasons with a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night. Left winger Kristian Huselius and center Jiri Novotny will not play Tuesday in Detroit, The Dispatch has learned. Huselius is a huge blow to the Blue Jackets, who are already low on top-six forwards. He sustained an apparent concussion on Saturday when he was cross-checked in the face by St. Louis Blues forward David Backes. He will not play Tuesday, but will be examined further later in the week. Novotny might have a concussion, too. He was game-time decision in St. Louis, but was able to play.
