Joe Biden (b. Nov. 20, 1942) was Barack Obama's Democratic running mate in the 2008 Presidential election. He is currently the vice-president-elect for the United States. Biden also ran for reelection in the U.S. Senate against Christine O'Donnell (R) which he won. His replacement will be named by the Democratic governor of Delaware.

Besides being the Vice Presidential candidate, Joe Biden is up for reelection in the senate. If Obama and Biden win the presidential election and Biden wins his senatorial election, he will forced to give up his seat and the governor of Delaware will appoint someone else to his senate seat.The 2008 U.S. Senatorial Elections will take place alongside the presidential election on Nov. 4, 2008. 35 of the nation's 100 senatorial seats will be up for grabs.
