Joe Crede may seem innocent, but don't be fooled by his boyish charm. That guy murders baseballs. The Chicago White Sox third baseman, who (along with Milton Bradley) was honored as the AL Player of the Week, went deep four times for a .611 average, driving in twelve runs. He did quite a bit of damage over the four-game set against the Minnesota Twins , which pretty much made me hurl everywhere. Especially that one time I watched him drive in six runs on Saturday in the rain and the beer. (Yay outdoor baseball!) The Twins Killer walked nine times, stole four bases and ... Read Full Story

Here I am, trying to get the scoop on Crede before the trade deadline (Will it be Josh Fields? Will it be Crede? Will they wait ‘till the offseason? Will they show him the money, or will I have to be loyal to two teams every year? He was great! He hit long balls, he did all the right things, but… he was no Joe Crede. It was like watching Pablo Ozuna on third- I understand why he ... Read Full Story

One of my favorite Pierzynski stories of all time involves A.J. taking a pitch to the groin, and kneeing Schneider in the groin when asked how it felt. Well, it seems knees in general are a big problem for this team. At least, this week. First, let me mention Griffey. He apparently just had surgery on his knee. [ The Story According to CWS ] There were supposed problems with his power, and clearly it affected his mobility. Yet the Sox insisted on sticking him in the outfield. Let’s not go back to that. Hopefully, that chapter of our lives is over. But, then ... Read Full Story
